Get ready for a slightly painful but very entertaining event in support of a brilliant local cause! 🧡
Katie from Katie Helen Beauty in Hartlepool is hosting a Waxathon fundraiser for furbd, with four brave local volunteers taking one for the team to help raise money for people across our communities who are being left behind in a digital world.
Taking one for the team are:
• Leon Wright from LWP Plumbing
• Colin Berry from Berrys Kitchen
• Graeme Stringer from Albion Electrical Ltd
• David Swinbourne from James David Hearing Care
Every pound raised will help furbd continue giving unwanted technology a second life and getting it into the hands of people who need it most. That could be a child unable to do homework at home, someone isolated and struggling to stay connected, a person rebuilding their life after homelessness, or someone trying to access healthcare, education or work without a device of their own. furbd exists because in today’s world, being digitally excluded often means being excluded from opportunity altogether.
Behind every refurbished laptop, tablet or phone is a real person trying to move forward.
Fundraising like this genuinely means so much to furbd. Every donation helps cover the real costs behind getting devices refurbished and into the hands of people who need them most. It also supports our longer-term vision of creating neurodivergent-friendly training and employment opportunities through refurbishment and digital inclusion work.
We’re incredibly grateful to Katie and all four volunteers for getting involved, having a laugh, and supporting something that is making a real difference in our communities.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it really does make a difference and means so much to our team and the people we support.
Please support the fundraiser if you can… and enjoy watching the volunteers regret their life choices one wax strip at a time 😂
